Eloise Hall Schmidt September 8, 1928 – April 3, 2012


    Eloise Marie Hall Schmidt, age 83, beloved wife of the late TSgt. Robert T. Schmidt, died on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at her residence in Sumter, South Carolina. 


Born on September 8, 1928 in Kellerton, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Cora A. Hall. She was employed with Meredith Polishing Company for six years and was the owner of Carolina Mobile Court. She was the president of the United Air Force NCO Wives Club, a bowling instructor and loved basketball, hunting, roller-skating, bingo and cribbage. 

Surviving are her two sons, Steven W. Schmidt of Sumter, South Carolina and Robert T. Schmidt, Jr. and his wife Regina of Columbia, South Carolina; one daughter, Gayle Langan and husband Michael of Saint Genevieve, Missouri; four sisters, Linda Gayle Hall Liljeblad, Opal Oveda Hall Watson, Cora Lovena Hall Pierick and Glenda Rose Hall Marlow; four grandchildren, Savanna Schmidt, Raymond Schmidt, Ellen Drake and Michael Lewis, and five great-grandchildren, Melody and Kensley Lewis, Taylor and Zoey Drake and Taylor Evanson.

She was preceded in death by one son, David Ryan Schmidt; four brothers, Albert Ray Hall, John Edward Hall, Lowell Junior Hall and Gerald Lee Hall, and two sisters, Viola Hall Nickles and Alberta F. Hall Moyes. 

Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 7, 2012, at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa. Eloise was laid to rest in the Benton Cemetery.
