JUNIOR ARLEN DREDGE
Junior Arlen Dredge was born June 23, 1928 in Tingley , Iowa to Arlen Hubert Dredge and Arzetta Colter Dredge and passed away March 31, 2015 at the age of 86.
On July 31, 1948 he was united in marriage to Roena Faye Reynolds. This union was blessed with four children, Duane, Donna, Dawnette and Dan.
Junior was an area farmer and he loved his cattle. Junior was also a mechanic at several local businesses until 2003, when for health reasons, he moved into Mount Ayr. Junior spent many hours tinkering with cars with his sons and grandsons. Spending time with his family was one of Juniors brightest moments and he loved having wiener roasts; joy rides with family singing his special songs; playing a good game of pitch and listening to country music.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Hubert Dredge, Henry (Elaine) Dredge and Frank (Elizabeth) Dredge; sisters Annabelle (Richard) Knight, Marie Rains, Lorene (Ed) Jones and Eva Lee (Raymond) Haley; parents-in-law Merle and Gladys Reynolds; brothers and sisters in-laws include Clyde Brand, Ginger Gaule, Jean Robertson, Frank Reynolds, Burl (Delores) Reynolds and Richard Campbell.
Those left to cherish his memory include Roena, his loving wife of 67 years; children Duane (Meredith) Dredge and Donna (Dick) Elliott of Mount Ayr, IA, Dawnette (Danny) VanLaar of Winterset, IA and Dan (Aimee) Dredge of Monroe, IA; grandchildren Leslie (Jared) Murphy, Clint (Allison) Dredge, Dennis (Sami) Elliott, Adam (Katrina) Dredge and Brad (Abby) Elliott all of Mount Ayr, IA, Morgan (Erik) Kalweit of Des Moines, IA, Mathew (Alyssa) VanLaar of Ames, IA, Ryan VanLaar, Tyson VanLaar and Drew VanLaar (fiancé Stacey Baudler) all of Winterset, IA, Tyler Dredge and Nick Dredge of Monroe, IA; great-grandkids Rhett Murphy, Zach Murphy, Adalynn Dredge, Colten Dredge, Adley Dredge, Tarynn Dredge and Maci Jo Elliott all of Mount Ayr, IA, Taytum VanLaar of Ames, IA, brother Loyde (Loree) Dredge; brothers and sisters-in-law Helen Dredge, John Raines, Edgar (Dee) Robertson, Raymond Gaule, Ron (Shari) Reynolds, Dorthy Campbell and Ramona Brand; many nieces and nephews.
