RICHARD FRANKLIN

    Master Chief Petty Officer Richard Dwain Franklin, U.S. Navy (Retired), passed from this life on April 27, 2015 at the age of 84. He was born in Union County to Orville and Frances (Shifflett) Franklin, who preceded him in death.
    He is survived by his wife Mildred (Keller) Franklin, his daughter Monica and husband Gary Patience of Windsor Heights, daughter Lori Franklin of Mount Ayr, son Michael Franklin of Mount Ayr, six grandchildren; Denise (Patience) Greenlees, Holly (Patience) Nancarrow, Ryan Patience, Stephen Patience, Christina (Franklin) Perry, and Matthew Franklin, nineteen great grandchildren; Jonathan, Violet, Autumn, Garrett, Rose, Angus, William, Summer, Reece, Sophia, Jake, Naomi, Hunter, Wesson, Lili, Emma, Kaden, and Jesse, his sister Dee Anne and husband Jim Peroutka of Omaha, brother Phil and wife Linda of Afton, and sister Kae Leta and husband Terry Davenport of Humeston, and many nieces and nephews.
    Memorial and military services for his cremains will be held at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa on Thursday April 30th at 2 p.m. Memorials may be given to the family.
