JEFFREY LYNN WHITE

    Jeffrey Lynn White, son of Raymond C. and Imogene (Eastland) White, was born October 3, 1962 at Omaha, Nebraska.
    Jeff was raised on a farm southeast of Mount Ayr. He graduated from Mount Ayr High School in 1981. He enjoyed farming and working with horses. When he did get off the farm, he took his pride and joy, his ’72 Chevy Camaro, to town.
    Jeff worked for his dad at the family body shop and at Andy Johnson Chevrolet in Mount Ayr. He also worked at the sale barn.
    He spent many hours fishing and enjoyed water skiing and swimming when he could. He loved his nieces, whom he always carried candy for, and his great nieces, who helped him take care of the horses.
    Jeff passed away May 27, 2015 at the Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr after a courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father.
    Survivors include his mother, Imogene White of Mount Ayr; brother Rodney White of Mount Ayr; nieces Brandy (Damien) Barton, Sandy White, and Amelia (Ethan) Baker; great nieces Haley Barton, Larissa Barton, and Abby Baker.
    Services were held at the Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, IA on Monday, June 1, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Officiating the service was Pastor Duane Lauer with music provided by Nancy Sackett, Mary Davenport and Margaret Bickers. Honorary pallbearers were Ethan Baker, Damien Barton, David Weaver, Sheldon Comer, Barton Shields, Denny Johnson and Don Eastland. Burial is at Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr, Iowa.  A memorial fund has been established in his name to be decided later.
