JAMES PHILLIP MONAGHAN

    James (Jim) Phillip Monaghan, Jr., 64, of Mason City, passed away Friday, July 10, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa in Mason City.
    Memorials may be directed to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Jim.
    Visitation was held Monday July 13, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City. Graveside services will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr, Iowa at a later date.
    Jim was born on June 15, 1951, at Fort Hood, TX, the son of James and Aileene (Hogue) Monaghan. Jim was raised in Mount Ayr, IA and graduated from Mount Ayr Community Schools in 1969. He attended Iowa Barber College in Des Moines, IA and was a barber at Federal Barber Shop in Mason City for 8 years. He was a route driver for Pepsi in Mason City for 16 years and a Line Haul Driver for FedEx Freight for 15 years.
    Jim enjoyed watching sports, especially motorsports racing, Notre Dame, the Dallas Cowboys, and the New York Yankees.
    Jim is survived by his daughter, Jamie Doland and fiancé Hans Wachal of Cedar Rapids, IA; his sister Debb (Glenn) Grout of Lenox, IA; brother Jeff (Cindy) Monaghan of Mason City; and his mom Aileene Dickerson of Lenox, IA; two granddaughters, Emily and Kylie; many more nieces, nephews, and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his father, stepfather and all of his grandparents.
