JANICE JEAN LINDEMAN
Janice Jean Lindeman, daughter of Morris Joseph LaVern and Laura Gweneth (Morgan) Carlson, was born July 15, 1941 in the Ogden Hospital in Ogden, Iowa. Janice was raised in Boone County. She began her education in a country school and finished by graduating from Ogden High School.
Janice married Harold Lindeman in Story County, Iowa in 1962. They farmed in Story County until moving to Ringgold County, Iowa in 1967. A daughter, Colleen, was born in 1966.
Janice belonged to a garden club and a neighborhood card club. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed volunteering and working at the Neighborhood Center in Mount Ayr. Over the years, Janice cared for numerous people. She did whatever was necessary so that they could remain in their own homes.
Harold passed away in 1979. In 1982, Janice married Richard Lindeman. and he passed away in 2012.
Janice passed away November 28, 2015 while a resident at Westview Care Center in Indianola, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; grandparents; and her aunts and uncles.
Janice is survived by her daughter Colleen (Allen) Vanderflught of St. Charles, IA; grandchildren Curt (Ashley) Vanderflught of New Virginia, IA, Kelsey Whitson of Indianola, IA, Luke (Ashley) Vanderflught of New Virginia, IA, and Megan (Eli) Smith of Eagleville, MO; great grandchildren Prudence, Clayton, and Gwenneth; a brother Dennis Dean (Kathy) Carlson of Atkins, IA; a sister Barbara Ann (Albert) Miller of Boone, IA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many good friends.
Memorials are to Mercy Hospice in Des Moines, Iowa.
Visitation will be held at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, December 2. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mount Ayr at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 3 with Fr. David Polich officiating. Casketbearers are Bill Schaefer, Dr. John Peters, Rich Elmer, Blake Fry-Schnormeier, Clint Dredge and Paul Glendenning. Burial is in the Benton Cemetery in Benton, Iowa.
