JUDY HANSELL

Judy Ann Hansell, 71, of Creston, passed away December 11, 2015 at Grinnell Regional Medical Center in Grinnell, Iowa.

Judy was born January 7, 1944 at the hospital in Creston, Iowa to Ivan and Arlene (Shrimpton) Hansell. Judy grew up at Diagonal and while attending school, she was a member of the student council and was the prom queen. Judy graduated from Diagonal High School in 1963. Following graduation, Judy moved to Clearwater, Florida where she loved the sunshine and she worked as a dental assistant. Judy married and later divorced. Judy returned to Iowa and lived in Creston for much of her life. 

Survivors include her son, Todd Hansell of Des Moines, Iowa; a brother Marion (Mary Jo) Hansell of Des Moines, IA; niece Amanda (Brian) Downs of Urbandale; great-nephew, Hayden Downs of Urbandale; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of her life will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 19 at the United Church of Diagonal with Rev. Edward Shields and Pastor Bill Armstrong officiating. The family will be present and receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall.
