MILDRED HELENE STRONG BOYD
Mildred Helene Strong Boyd was born July 8, 1924 in Page County, Iowa. She graduated from Clarinda High School and the American Institute of Business (AIB).
Mildred lived most of her life in Tingley, Iowa. She moved to Olathe, Kansas in 2009 to be near family. She died at Kansas City Hospice House on Christmas Day, December 25, 2015 surrounded by family.
Mildred was active in the Tingley United Presbyterian Church serving as church treasurer, Elder, Clerk of Session, Elder Commissioner for Presbytery, Congregational Care and Development Committee member, Sunday School teacher, and Presbyterian Women. She continued to serve the church as Parish Treasurer for the Ringgold Parish and Faith Presbyterian Parish.
She worked for and retired from the State of Iowa, Department of Human Services. She was self-employed as tax preparation professional for over 50 years.
Mildred was predeceased by her parents, three brothers, one sister, a son, John Charles Boyd. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Kathryn and Robert Webber; three granddaughters, Kimberly (Philip) Dahl; Abigail (Adam) Goellner; Andrea (Thomas) Markman; and great grandchildren, Ethan, Emeline, and Elijah Dahl, and Wesley Goellner; one sister-in-law, JoAnn Strong; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Baptist Presbyterian Church in Mount Ayr, Iowa, on Thursday, 12/31/2015, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation at the church will be from noon until 2:00. Burial will be in the Clarinda Cemetery at a later date.
