GENE PARMAN

    Gene Parman, 88, of Mesa AZ, passed away on August 14, 2016 at Banner Heart Hospital in Mesa, AZ.
Gene was born in Hatfield, MO on August 26, 1927 to Albert and Cordia Parman. He spent the first 34 years of his life in Iowa where he married Martha, his wife of 68 years. Gene moved his family to Arizona in 1961 where he worked as parts manager for Courtesy Chevrolet until retirement.  After traveling the U.S. for many years, Gene and Martha settled in Sunland Village East in Mesa, AZ.  Gene served in the Navy during WWII and was a member of the Masonic Faith Lodge #179 of Mount Ayr, IA.  He enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, playing pool and cards.
Gene was very loving, kind and considerate and will be greatly missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Juanita Hilligoss and Nina Gordon, and brother Kenneth. He is survived by his wife Martha, son Ron (Lynn), daughter Alicia Hall (David), grandsons Kevin and Brandon Hall, and Adam Parman, two great-grandsons, five great-granddaughters, brothers Lowell (Sonnie) and Gary (Ramona), and sister Frances Goetz, sister-in-law Phyllis Faubion, and many nieces and nephews.
    Graveside services will be held at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Blockton, Iowa on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Scott Marcum officiating. Military honors will be provided by Blockton Post #443 and Naval Honor Guard. Masonic rites will be provided by Mount Ayr Faith Lodge. Burial is in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Blockton, Iowa.
    A memorial fund has been established to go to the Blockton Community Building.
