MICKEY ROE POTTORFF
Mickey Roe “Mick” Pottorff, 78, passed away September 2, 2016 at Clearview Nursing Home, Mount Ayr, IA.
Mick was born October 22, 1937 in Ringgold County, IA, the son of Dee and Ruby Janie (Weddle) Pottorff. On December 3, 1957 he married Phyllis Kinyon in Creston, IA.Mick was a Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He had been a barber, painter, and sandblaster. He had also worked in the VA system while living in Wyoming. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge, enjoyed hunting, and drinking coffee at the Dinner Bell.
Mick was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Teddy Max and Carol Dee Pottorff; and a sister, Odetta Von Steeples.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Phyllis, of the home; two sons, Tom (Gayla) Pottorff, Hatfield, MO, Tim (Anita) Pottorff, Weldon, IA; one daughter, Teyoni (Ted) Scheve, Metropolis, IL; one sister, Zelpha Ray, Texarkana, Arkansas; grandchildren, Laura Reynolds, Charrissa (Bobby) Lewis, Seth (Amanda) Pottorff, Shayna (Bobby) Mulvania, Brandy (Justin) Graham, Dylan (Takaya) Pottorff, Wade, Reed and Ross Scheve, and Kylie Pottorff; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 6, at Roberson Funeral Home, Eagleville, MO. Burial with Military Rites followed in Lincoln Center Cemetery, Hatfield, MO.
