Allen Dale Davidson was born on Dec. 23, 1933 to Dale and Laura Davidson.  He had three sisters, Hazel (Everett), Helen (Bill), Margaret (Bill), and one brother, Ralph (Joan).
He attended school in Grant City and played football. After graduating he worked for Bunches Stave Mill building Hwy 136. He was fixed up on a blind date with Shirley Rainey who he later married. To this union they had two sons, Randall (Rosana) and Robert (Teresa) and daughter, Shelly (Michael).
He was on the Worth County sheriff’s posse. He was also a member of the Christian Church, Masonic Lodge, and was active in Farm Bureau. He was a lover of dogs and horses from an early age. Always had a team of horses to feed, cattle and participate in parades and pulls. Allen and the team pulled the school kids on winter sleigh rides and delivered Santa many years to town. He started pulling horses in the early 1960’s and pulled for over 20 years. He went to several small town pulls and also the Iowa and Missouri State Fair. One year he forgot his horse feed and one of the other pullers forgot his lunch. Allen shared his beef spread that Shirley made and the gentleman gave him some horse feed.
Allen and Shirley had a dairy farm for over 40 years and a very healthy garden they shared with many. He enjoyed going on many trips with Shirley and the kids after retiring from the dairy. After his wife’s passing he enjoyed many hours at the Grant City Senior Center playing dominos.  He went to live with daughter Shelly and later moved into Clearview where he passed away Sept 9, 2018.
Allen is preceded in death by wife of over 50 years, Shirley, parents, all of his siblings, and in-laws. Survived by sister in law and brother in law, Dixie and Max Hopkins, sons, and daughter, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many other friends and family.
