WILLIAM DAVID DREW

William David Drew, son of Roy Drew and Frances (Noth) Drew was born July 30, 1941 in Milan, Missouri and passed from this life Monday, December 10, 2018 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa at 77 years of age.
Dave moved with his family many times as a child, his father served in the Navy. Dave graduated from Centralia High School in Centralia, Missouri. He graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia and later received his Master’s Degree in Hospital Administration from the University of Minnesota.
Dave was united in marriage to Joyce Ann Shors on September 2, 1961 in Pocahontas, Iowa, four sons blessed this union. Dave and Joyce have lived at Sun Valley Lake near Ellston, Iowa the past 13 years and have also lived in Shenandoah, Iowa and Atchison, Kansas.
Dave worked as a Hospital Administrator at Atchison Hospital in Atchison, Kansas and Shenandoah Medical Center in Shenandoah, Iowa. Dave was a member of the Iowa Hospital Association, served on the Board of Directors for the Ringgold County Hospital, past member of the Sun Valley Country Club board, former member of the Kiwanis Club and member of Ducks Unlimited. Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, golfing, wood working and was an avid reader. He loved his family and will be deeply missed.
Those relatives who preceded Dave in death were his parents, Roy and Frances Drew; sister, Dianne Johnson and grandson, Christopher Drew.
Dave’s memory will be cherished by those left behind, including his wife, Joyce Drew of Ellston, Iowa; four sons, Tom Drew of Omaha, Nebraska, John (Emese) Drew of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Curt (Michelle) Drew of Omaha, Nebraska, Doug Drew (Amy Yang) of Minneapolis, Minnesota; five grandchildren, Jake, Georgia, Caroline, Jack and Philip; brother, Mike (Cindy) Drew of Batesville, Indiania as well as other relatives and many friends.
Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 460 Wabonsy St, Grand River, Iowa, December 15, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Dave Polich officiating.
Family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2018 at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St, Osceola, Iowa with prayer services at 7:00 p.m.
Cremation was entrusted to Kale Funeral Home in Osceola and interment of his cremains will be in the Grand River Cemetery in Grand River, following Mass on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Ringgold County Hospital or Sun Valley Country Club, Inc.
