KELLIE LYNN GROFT

Kellie Lynn (Reed) Groft, 56, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018 in Lincoln Nebraska. She was born February 1, 1962, to Joe and Gloria (Grose) Reed. Kellie grew up in LeMars Iowa and attended the University of South Dakota, where she studied music and the arts.
For many years Kellie worked with adults who had intellectual disabilities, teaching job training and life skills in their homes. Due to her kind and playful nature, her training and her acceptance of all, she was very successful working with those who had some of the most challenging issues.
Kellie was trained as a nurse and worked in that field for several years. Kellie also operated her own business as a plant artist. She was deeply knowledgeable about classical music, visual arts, Eastern philosophies, and literature. Kellie was a devoted mother of two children. She was an avid conversationalist, possessed a sharp wit, and was a willing and generous friend to anyone in need.
Kellie died on December 19, 2018, due to an infection following a shoulder surgery.
She is survived by her mother, Gloria Reed of Des Moines, Iowa; her husband, Travis Groft, and two children, Wallace and Louisa Groft, of Lincoln Nebraska; nephew, Keegan, and niece, Kileigh; sisters-in-law, Dana and Renée; many cousins and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Reed, and brother, Kevin.
A memorial service will be held for Kellie at the chapel of Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital on January 12, 2018 at noon, 5401 South St., Lincoln, NE.
