DALE HAIGHT
Dale Haight, 81, of Mount Ayr, formerly of Arispe, died Monday, March 18, 2019 at the Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr.
Celebration of life memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at the Powers Funeral Home 612 N. Dodge in Afton. Pastor Joel Sutton will officiate. Burial will be at Cornwall-Haight Cemetery in Ellston, IA.
Open memorial gathering with family receiving friends will be one hour prior to the service at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Powers Funeral Home in Afton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Arispe United Methodist Church. Online condolences can be given at www.powersfh.com.
Dale Franklin Haight, son of Ellis Franklin Haight and Berniece Edna (Bender) Haight was born March 17, 1938 in Sand Creek Township Union County, IA. Dale graduated from Arispe High School with the class of 1956.
On November 25, 1956, Dale was united in marriage to Patty Lou Perkins at the Arispe United Methodist Church. They settled on a farm north of Ellston. Dale began his farming career there that lasted for over 55 years. Dale retired in 2000 and then moved into Mount Ayr in 2012. Dale was a member of the Arispe United Methodist Church and also served as clerk for the Pleasant Township board of trustees.
Dale was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Iowa State Cyclone fan.
Dale is survived by his children, Linda (Hal) McClelland of Lacona, Steven (Linda) Haight of Ellston and Lori Ann Haight of Grimes; four grandchildren Courtney (Bryan) Rush of Norwalk, Brenton (Jana) McClelland of Ankeny, Clinton (Jessica) Haight of Ellston and Catelin Haight (Aaron Haack) of Orange City; great-grandchildren Colin and Delaney Rush of Norwalk; Carson and Maggie McClelland of Ankeny and Talon, Tristin and Titan Haight of Ellston and brother, Dean (Donna) Haight, of Afton.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Patty, in 2016 and a granddaughter, Christa Haight, in 1986.
