LEROY A. WILMES

LeRoy A. Wilmes, 88 of Maryville, MO passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at his home.
LeRoy was born on February 28, 1931 in Bedison, MO to Herman and Agnes (Kohmetscher) Wilmes. He worked in sales most of his life. LeRoy graduated from Horace Mann High School and was a member of St. Gregory’s Barbarigo Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
He married Anne Garrity on July 27, 1991 in Mount Ayr, IA. She preceded him in death on January 3, 2009. He was also preceded by his parents, daughter, Jennifer Wilmes, two sisters, Lucille Manning and Eileen Linneman; three brothers, Clyde, Don and Gene Wilmes.
He is survived by his former wife, Ada Mae Wilmes, and mother of his children, Andy (Betty) Wilmes, Collinsville, OK, Judy Sobbing, Kansas City, MO, Jeanie Burns, Kansas City, MO, Janie Wilmes (Steve Burns), Kansas City, MO, Tom (Sandy) Wilmes, Maryville, MO, Joy (Mike) Farnan, Richmond, MO, Joan Wilmes, Kansas City, MO, Larry Wilmes, Florence, AL, Jolene (Tom) Guinn, Port Orange, FL and Ken (Dawn) Wilmes, Livermore, CO; two step-children, Beth Combs, Cedar Rapids, IA and Brad Still, Mount Ayr, IA; one sister, LaVera Wilson and brother, Paul Wilmes; 33 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Mass of Christian Burial was at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16 at St. Gregory’s Barbarigo Catholic Church. Burial was at St. Columba Cemetery, Conception, MO. Rosary was at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, April 15 at St. Gregory’s Barbarigo Catholic Church.
