MARILYN ANN PLOEGER (LOVE)

Marilyn Ann Love was born February 12, 1936 in Waterloo, Iowa to parents Myrtle E (Grobb) and Lawrence Duncan (Pat). She graduated from East High School in Waterloo with the class of 1953. While in high school she worked for Black’s department store.
She met a tall, red haired sailor named Harvey John after he was discharged from the Navy. They fell in love and married June 30, 1955. They lived in Cedar Falls where Randall John was born, moved to Wapello where Lori Lyn was born and spent the rest of their lives in Mount Ayr where Wendy Sue was born.
Marilyn was an ultimate housewife, keeping the house spotless, packing her husband’s lunch every day and having supper on the table every night for her family. Harvey and Marilyn loved their life on the Mount Ayr Game Area where they entertained many friends and family with fishing, swimming, cookouts and playing cards. Marilyn always loved flowers and plants and maintained many flower gardens. In 1994 she became a proud Grandmother when within a span of a week she became a Grandma to three grandchildren.
Marilyn passed away at Clearview Home on May 21, 2019 when she decided that 13 days without Harvey was more than enough. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother in laws, Hermina and Bill Secor, and sister in law, Kay Love.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Randy and Julie Ploeger, Lori and Mohamed Fellah, Wendy and Brian Wimer, grandchildren, Ashley and Brandi Ploeger, Mila and Maya Fellah, Logan and Cody Stackhouse, Clay Wimer, her sister, Joan (Jim) Hibben, brothers, Barry Love, Larry D (Margitta) Love, nieces and nephews.     There are no funeral services planned and memorials may be directed to “Blooms in the Ayr” for the hanging flower baskets on the Mount Ayr square.
Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr is in charge of the arrangements.
