The Ringgold County Board of Supervisors have hired Jared Johnson as the new county engineer.
Johnson will start June 10 after working for Blattner Energy, a satellite wind farm company in Orient.
Johnson is familiar with the area, having worked for Calhoun Burns where he inspected many of the bridges and culverts in Ringgold County just after graduating from Iowa State with his civil engineer degree.
Johnson will work under interim engineer Don Staley for one year until he can sit for his professional engineer exam.
