The Ringgold County Development Corporation (RCDC) has announced that it has completed its interviews for a county economic development director and has offered a contract to its top candidate.
The name of the candidate, however, has not been released pending the acceptance of the contract.
The hiring subcommittee had narrowed the field of over 20 applicants to five for the first round of interviews.
If in place by July 2, the new director will be able to participate as the RCDC hosts Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg and Rural Iowa representatives in a meeting to showcase Ringgold County to influential corporate contributors and philanthropic leaders.
The event will include the debut of a professionally-created video promoting what Ringgold County can offer to prospective businesses and individuals who may consider relocating to the area.
