CATHY LOU MCNEAR

Cathy Lou McNear, 57, of Mount Ayr passed away Saturday, August 3, 2019 at the Greater Regional Hospice Home.            Celebration of life will be Saturday, August 24 at the Eagles Lodge in Creston from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr. Cathy Lou McNear was born June 25, 1962 to Lawrence Lee and Karen D. (Walters) Kingery in Guthrie Center, IA.
On March 19, 1985 Cathy was united in marriage to Richard “Dean” McNear in Plattsmouth, NE. To this union three children were born, Brian Christopher, Sean Patrick and Misty Casandra. The family lived in Diagonal in the early 1990’s and they later moved to Mount Ayr. Their family grew with the addition of grandson, Bailey.
Cathy worked for the Mount Ayr Products and later became a certified nurses assistant and worked most recently for Clearveiw Home in Mount Ayr. Cathy lost her family in a house fire on January 16, 2000 while she was working the night shift at the care center.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard “Dean” McNear; three children, Brian, Sean and Misty McNear; brother, Michael Kingery; brother-in-laws, Ron Ford and Tom Hingeley.
Left to cherish her memory are mother-in-law, Phyllis Arlene McNear; five sisters, Diane Ford of NM, Debbie Hingeley of Diagonal, Christi Kingery of Mount Ayr, Kaye Dee (Vern) Liesener of Creston and Wendy Franck (Donnie Gillispie) of MO; grandson, Bailey; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
