Looking at the Trump administration’s rewriting of the Statue of Liberty’s welcoming message of “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled messes.” Top immigration official Ken Cuccinelli said, the poem referred to “people coming from Europe.”
Trump himself has wondered why there weren’t more people from countries like Norway instead of from ****hole countries in Africa and Latin America.
Think about it. Under those guidelines would Jesus, a, poor non English speaking Middle Easterner with brown skin qualify to come to the United States? Although he did learn his earthly fathers trade as a carpenter, in the Gospels, he begins his ministry as a itinerant preacher with a ragged following, essentially homeless with no secure income.
