CAMERON MICHAEL YOUNG
Cameron Michael Young, son of Michael Wayne and Janie Lillian (Groves) Young, was born January 9, 1998 at Corning, IA. Cameron graduated from Mount Ayr High School with the class of 2016. He had graduated from the diesel mechanics class at Indian Hill College in Ottumwa, IA.
Cameron was a very loving and caring person, yet he was strong willed and a huge pain in the rear. I went around asking people to give me one word that would describe him and their response was “Loyal, Courageous, Genuine, Understanding, Reliable and Charismatic”. Cameron left such an impact on everyone’s life, and though he’s gone, he remains forever in our hearts. Cameron is the son of Mike and Janie Young and a brother to Kyle, Kirsten, Courtney and Cenadie. As a high school student he played various extracurricular activities that include football, basketball and band. His hobbies would consist of fishing, hunting, and spending weekends with friends and family. Cameron was always a sweet and loving person, when it came to someone in need, he would stay up for late night FaceTimes or even show up for nightly drives. He truly was one call away. He always came home with a smile or was laughing, but probably because someone’s outfit wasn’t up to his standards or a joke he insisted to tell. Though we struggle knowing he is no longer with us, we all have gained a guardian angel that will watch over us and protect us through every hard time we experience. We may not see him, but he keeps his promise to stay and comfort us when we need him most and love us no matter the circumstance. As a family we’ve decided that he would be an organ donor because though he couldn’t be saved, he could save others in need and help them live and fight for a well-deserved future.
Cameron passed away August 30, 2019 at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, IA. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Walter Groves, Sr, Darlene Groves and step-grandfather Eugene Kohl; great grandfather, Arthur Young; aunt, Regina Conklin; uncle, Walter Groves, Jr.
