Mount Ayr answered back with two minutes to go before halftime on a Payton Weehler 42 yard run. Stull knocked in the PAT to lead 28-6.
The Raiders would continue to score throughout the night before a late score by the Cardinals made the final 48-14 score.
Isaac Grose ran for 104 yards on nine attempts and a touchdown, to lead the rushing for Mount Ayr.
“Our main goal was to run right at them and see if they could stop us,” said Isaac Grose. “
Cayden Lambert led the receiving game for the Raiders with 25 yards on three catches for one touchdown.
Weehler, the starting quarterback, was six-of-eight for 77 yards and two touchdowns. Weehler through one interception.
The Mount Ayr defense found their way through the line multiple times to get to the quarterback four times, as well as recovering a fumble and one interception.
“We wanted to establish the run game early and I think we did that really well,” said quarterback Payton Weehler. “We were pumped up for a rivalry game and we just wanted to go out and get a win.”
The Raiders will go on to Osceola this Friday night to face the Clarke Indians at 7 p.m.
