The Raiderettes fell to Nodaway Valley last week, 3-0, against a hot hitting Wolverine team, led by juniors Lexi Shike and Corinne Bond.
The Raiderettes were able to amass 17 kills, with 20 errors and 96 attempts in three games against the Wolverines, and only missed three serves, finishing with a 42-45 success rate, with six aces.
Sam Stewart recorded nine kills, had 10 digs and was 10-for-10 with two aces to lead the Raiderettes.
Jaycee Knight led the team in assists with 15, and was nine-for-11 serving with two aces.
Nodaway Valley’s Shike and Bond were a force as Bond reocrded 13 kills against Mount Ayr, along with two blocks and was seven-for-seven serving with one ace.
Shike recorded three kills, but had 24 assists and was 23-for-23 with five aces from the line.
“For a loss, I am actually coming home feeling okay about it,” said coach Tori Braby. “We for sure improved, new line-up on the floor, some girls in different positions made a difference for us playing together as a team. I feel positive that we are working through some kinks and are going to come out better and better each game.”

Last Thursday, the Raiderettes went east for a triangular with Pleasantville and Clarke.
In the first match of the night, Pleasantville got the win over Clarke, bringing up the Mount Ayr – Pleasantville contest.
The Raiderettes got the win (25-19, 25-18) to improve to 3-2 on the season.
Sam Stewart and Channler Henle led the way with six and four kills respectively, while Henle was seven-for-seven at the line with three aces and Stewart was six-for-six with three aces.
Jaycee Knight stayed busy setting up attacks with nine assists against the Trojans. Gracie Mobley had four digs in her time on the floor and was perfect at the line, serving seven-for-seven including one ace.

The Raiderettes capped off their night with a sweep of the Clarke Lady Indians.
Addy Reynolds led the Raiderettes in kills with five on 10 attempts, while also recorded a block.
Rachel Sobotka had the other block for Mount Ayr, and also had one kill.
Sam Stewart, Tegan Streit and Channler Henle each had four kills, while Streit led the way in aces with two.
The girls improved to 4-2 on the season.
