Raiderettes down Wayne before loss to Southwest Valley Monday

SWV 3, Mount Ayr 0
Southwest Valley traveled to Mount Ayr last week for a regular season volleyball match.
The Raiderettes attempted to fend off the Timberwolf powerhouse but fell after three sets.
In the loss, Mount Ayr was led by Sam Stewart with nine kills on 23 attempts and Channler Henle who had seven kills on 15 attempts.
Stewart was eight-for-eight serving on the night as well.
The Raiderettes were 43-of-50 serving altogether and had two aces on the night from Kaylie Shields and Payten Lambert.
It wasn’t enough to defeat the Timberwolves though and the Raiderettes dropped to 11-12.

East Mills 3, Mt. Ayr 1
After the loss to Southwest Valley, the Raiderettes took a trip west to Malvern to face East Mills.
Previously, the Raiderettes had lost to the Wolverines twice, and would ultimately fall a third time, but not before snagging a 26-24 win in the second set to take the match to four.
Sam Stewart was the leading attacker for the Raiderettes with 15 kills and serving 18-of-19 over with one ace while Jaycee Knight was busy with 23 assists and one block.
The loss dropped Mount Ayr to 11-13 on the year to finish out the regular season.

POI Tournament
Mount Ayr 3, Wayne 0
The Raiderettes traveled to Corning on Monday night to compete in the Pride of Iowa Conference volleyball tournament.
Wayne and Mount Ayr squared off to start off the night in which the Raiderettes won after three sets with Channler Henle playing very well at the net with a team high 11 kills while going 11-for-12 with three aces serving.
Sam Stewart led the serving attack going 17-of-19 for six aces against the Lady Falcons.

Southwest Valley, the host team, was up next for Mount Ayr.
The Raiderettes had just lost to them a week before and the girls looked to battle once more, but a strong Timberwolf team once again came out ahead.
Sam Stewart saw 11 kills on the night while Channler Henle and Addy Reynolds each had six.
Jaycee Knight had 28 assists and was three-of-three serving.
As a team, the Raiderettes were 49-of-52 serving, with three aces, whereas their opponent was 68-of-74 with 10 aces.
Southwest Valley also recorded 32 kills as a team compared to Mount Ayr’s 26.
Southwest Valley moved on to the semifinals to face Lenox while East Union will see Nodaway Valley.
