The Halloween season wraps up with Tingley Fun Night, Trick or Treat Nights, and the final performances of the Nightmare on Madison Street.
Tingley Fun Night
Tingley will hold their 73rd Halloween Fun Night on Saturday, October 26.
A pumpkin decorating challenge is the first activity underway. Pumpkins are available free at the Tingley Community Building after October 18. No one is too old or too young to participate. Be as creative as you dare, just do not carve. Everyone gets a prize.
Decorated pumpkins need to brought to the Tingley Community Building by Friday, October 25 by 9:00 a.m. to be judged.
Entries will be displayed in post office window until after Halloween parade. You will need to arrange pick-up by October 29.

The Tingley Lions Halloween soup supper will be held in the Community Building from 4:30-6:30 p.m. This year’s menu includes oyster, cheesy potato and chili soup; hot dogs; desserts and a beverage all for a free will offering.
“Court and Treat” is planned for Saturday evening before the parade from 5-6 p.m. at the Tingley tennis court. Businesses and individuals are wanted to set-up and give away candy to kids 15 and under. Questions should be directed to Jerica Bolinger 515-238-4391.
Nightmare on Madison Street
Nightmare on Madison Street has returned for a second year.
The haunted house attraction is located at 103 W. Madison Street in Mount Ayr on the second floor of the Timby Building.
This year the Nightmare will be open Friday and Saturday nights October 25-26 from 7-10:45 p.m. each night.
The final performance will be held Halloween night, Thursday, October 31, from 7-10 p.m.
All participants must sign a waiver before entering.
Children under age 10 must have an adult accompany them, and anyone under 18 must have a parent’s or guardian’s signature to enter.
Tickets are available at the door for $10.
Maximum group size is four people.
