The Raider wrestling team is off to a good start this year, with two meets under their belts, but took a big hit to the 120 weight class after Bryce Shaha had a knee injury in Osceola and will be out for an indeterminate time. The Raiders defeated Clarke, 48-36.
DrJarrett Webb defeated Kayden Ludington by fall in 37 seconds.
Payton Fleharty defeated Jessica Guerrero by fall in 24 seconds.
Trey Fooken fell to Kacey Boyer after 3:22.
Trae Ehlen defeated Hector Garza by fall.
Keaton White defeated Coel Reece by fall.
Jaydon Knight defeated Kenneth Fry by fall.
Mason Fry overcame Talal Rahahleh by fall.
Donovan Morales defeated Jake Smith by fall to round out the night for the Raiders.
The Raiders would have their second meet at the Coach Riley Invitational in Greenfield in which they placed fifth overall.
Drew Ehlen, coming in at 106, won by fall over his two opponents to place first. Ehlen faced Chase Crawford of Central Decatur and Mizael Gomez of Bedford-Lenox to place first overall.
In the 113 slot, Jarrett Webb placed fourth, receiving a bye in the quarterfinal round, but falling to Ethan Domina of Clarke and Marco Alejo.
Payton Fleharty, in the 126 class, fell int he quarterfinal to Michael Mayer of Clarinda, but battled back to win by fall over Carter Henderson of Creston/O-M and a decision win over Dayden Moertl of AHSTW.
Trey Fooken was defeated by Terrance Sheley of Bedford-Lenox and Devin Adams of Central Decatur.
Trae Ehlen, at 138, scored 25.5 points and a first place finish after winning by a technical fall over JJ Beaver of Knoxville. Ehlen would go on to defeat Garrison Gettler of AHSTW by fall before winning the first place match over Brayton Chestnut of Creston/O-M by fall.
Jaydon Knight placed first in the 145 weight class, defeating Cale Rowley of AC/GC by fall in the semifinal and Aidan Anderson of Creston/O-M by a 6-2 decision in the final.
Keaton White came in at 152, placing sixth.
White fell to Chris Aragon of Creston/O-M by an 11-5 decision. White would defeat Cael Hollinrake of Knoxville by fall, but fell to Jake Cox of Bedford-Lenox in the fifth place match.
In the 160 pound weight class, Talal Rahahleh fell to Cristian Nolte of AC/GC amd Andrew Kennan of Bedford-Lenox.
Andi Gonzales (182) placed fifth after falling to Michael Shiffer of AHSTW and then defeating Jesse Lawson of Bedford-Lenox by fall and Wyatt Darnell of Knoxville by an 11-5 decision.
At the 220 spot, Donovan Morales placed third. Morales lost to Jake Smith of Clarke by a 9-2 decision before defeating Dalton Calkins of Southwest Valley by a fall.
