The Raiders hosted the Worth County Tigers in the “Battle of the Border” last Friday night and came out with another victory, winning 79-62.
Worth County held their own against Mount Ayr, trailing four in the first but outscoring the hometown Raiders 31-29 in the second, giving Mount Ayr a 46-44 lead heading into halftime.
Coaches Bret Ruggles and Jeff Levine must have had a nice haltime speech as the Raiders came out and outscored the Tigers 33-18 to improve to 6-0 on the season.
Freshman Jaixen Frost continues to impress on the court, prompting coach Ruggles to give him more playing time.
Frost led the Raiders with 18 points followed by Dawson Frost with 17.
Jaixen Frost was six-of-11 with three of those being from beyond the arc.
Dawson Frost was eight-of-19 with one from beyond the three point mark. D. Frost led the team in rebounds with 13.
Isaac Grose scored 10 points on the night and led the team in steals with three, while Payton Weehler scored 15 points and Cayden Lambert had 11.
The Raiders had seven steals on the night and 26 of their 37 rebounds were defensive, giving Mount Ayr the edge they needed to improve to 6-0 on the year.

Mt. Ayr 79, Panora 65
The Raiders traveled to Panora on Saturday to face the Panthers less than 24 hours after beating the Worth County Tigers.
The Raiders fell behind early, and went into halftime down for the first time this season as the Panthers mounted a physical attack that looked to give the Raiders their first loss of the year.
After halftime however, the Raiders came back and outscored the Panthers 48-34 to take the victory by a score of 76-65.
The Raiders improved to 7-0.
Leading the Raiders was Payton Weehler with 28 points followed by Isaac Grose with 17.
Dawson Frost led in assists with six total and also had two blocks on the night.
Jaixen Frost led the Raiders in steals, recording three of the teams four.
