Mt. Ayr 65, NV 42
The Raiderettes stunned the Nodaway Valley crowd last Tuesday as Mount Ayr defeated the previously undefeated Wolverines 65-42.
Channler Henle was on fire, scoring 11 of the first 13 points and finished the night out with 22, going five-of-eight from downtown and seven-of-12 in total.
“Our effot and intensity was there again tonight,” said coach Thad Streit. “We did not play our best game at Panorama and to hear these girls talk and come together and be focused at practice yesterday, I knew they were going to respond.”
Respond they did. Sam Stewart recorded 21 points on the night and had two steals and six rebounds, while MaKayla Jones led the defensive effort with three steals.
Rachel Sobotka scored 12 points for Mount Ayr and had six rebounds.
The Raiderettes missed out on their Bedford matchup Friday, but that game will be made-up February 11 at Mount Ayr.
