The first-in-the-nation Iowa caucus will take place Monday, February 3, and caucus sites have been announced for Ringgold County.
All voting precincts for the Republican caucus will meet in one location – Mount Ayr Elementary School.
Doors open at 7 p.m.
On the Democrat side, each precinct will hold its own caucus. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and individuals must be in line or signed in by 7 p.m. to participate in caucus activities.
Athens precinct will meet in the Kellerton Community Building.
Clinton precinct will meet in the Benton Community Building.
Mount Ayr I precinct will meet in the Assembly Room at the Ringgold County courthouse.
Mount Ayr II precinct will meet in the courtroom in the Ringgold County courthouse.
Tingley precinct will meet in the Tingley Community Building.
Union precinct will meet in the Ellston Community Building.
Washington precinct will meet in the Diagonal Community Building.
The Democratic caucus will open with sharing by participants on their presidential preferences along with short speeches by other candidates and local officials.
The caucus will then the presidential preference voting, followed by election of delegates and alternatives to the county convention.
Proposed resolutions to the county platform will then be discussed and adopted.
The final action includes election of precinct committee persons to the Ringgold County Central Committee.
Voter registration will be available at each caucus site.
