On February 26, while conducting a joint investigation with the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Leslie John Smith, 35, of Mount Ayr.
Smith was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (methamphetamine) (Class B felony), failure to affix a drug tax stamp (Class D felony), possession of a firearm by a felon (Class D felony), possession of drug paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor), and possession of stolen property (simple misdemeanor).
No bond was set pending an appearance before a magistrate.
Any potential criminal charges identified above are merely allegations and any defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
