from Ringgold Holdings
Ringgold Holdings, LLC – a company committed to providing mainstay resources for sustaining our local economy – just announced its initial staffing and sales projections for their pharmacy project and the sequential grocery store.
As shared in the March 5 edition of the Record News, the entity will serve as an anchor to revitalizing the Mount Ayr business district. They will start with a new full-range pharmacy, including general health and beauty items, over-the-counter medicines, and one-time and recurring prescriptions, there is also potential for more pharmacy-related services not currently available in the area.
Generated sales tax
Based on market research and the two-entity business plan, the pharmacy and grocery store expect a combined total of nearly $150,000 in generated sales tax each year, on top of the property tax expected by maintaining an existing uptown location. It will then be reinvested into our state and local efforts.
“If we continue to replace local businesses with empty buildings, soon it will be our schools, our local government agencies, our hospital and our rural farms that are empty,” said Ringgold County Development board member Kim Greenland. “We have to give families a reason to make their home in our area. No matter how great our offerings, we join a list of dying communities if the right resources and people aren’t here. I am thrilled to see new life coming to the county.”
Job creation
Ringgold Holdings, LLC expects more than 20 full-time and part-time jobs, as well as training programs and apprenticeships in the future. With the unofficial mantra of ‘community unity,’ the group has identified innovative ways to incorporate other Ringgold County businesses to help drive the comprehensive advancement of our area through strategic alliances.
“The unchartered times we’re facing with the COVID-19 pandemic reinforces the positive impact of being sustainable within our own area,” said Clearfield resident Caleb Baker. “With our agricultural roots, there is no better way to support our friends and neighbors than to leverage our own supply chains to benefit everyone.”
