The Ringgold County board of supervisors has approved applying pavement markings to several county highways.
In action taken at their April 27 meeting, the board accepted the low bid from Quality Stripping Inc. of Des Moines for $48,772.65 to complete the project.
Pavement markings will be applied on County Highways J20, P46, P27, P33 and J23 from Hwy 25 to the City of Diagonal. Edge lines and center lines will appear on all roads except P27 south of Highway 2 and P33, where these will have only a center line.
County engineer Jared Johnson said marking contractors will begin work later this month. In the meantime, the Secondary Roads Department will be out in the field laying out the passing and no passing zones. No passing signs are on order and will be installed when they arrive.
