Raiders to face Albia Blue Demons in week one

Raider football is back and will be beginning the season against the Class 2A Albia Blue Demons.
Albia will travel to Mount Ayr for week one under the Friday night lights on August 28 at 7 p.m.
The two teams have not faced each other since 2015, in which Albia defeated the Raiders 36-6.
In the two contests the teams have played, Albia has come out on top, with their only other contest taking place in 2014 with Albia winning 39-8.
The Blue Demons bring back 11 seniors to a team that struggled last year, going 1-8 on the season.
After battling Albia, the Raiders will face Nodaway Valley, Pleasantville, Colfax-Mingo, Pella Christian, Interstate-35 and Central Decatur.
The 2020 season is different, as every team will be eligible for the playoffs and will be determined by geographical location. The playoffs begin October 9.
Homecoming, will be September 18 against Colfax-Mingo.
The Raiders will play three games at home. Albia, Colfax-Mingo and Pella Christian will all travel to Mount Ayr.
The junior varsity squad will play against Nodaway Valley, Southwest Valley, Maryville, Central Decatur, Clarinda and Shenandoah.
