Thursday night marked the last game for the Mount Ayr volleyball team, until September 15 according to Mount Ayr Community Schools athletic director Scott Giles.
A member of the volleyball team, who had been out of school since Tuesday, received results on Friday that she had tested positive for COVID-19.
The positive case would end up effecting the Raider football team as well, sidelining their starting quarterback due to contact tracing.
Along with the quarterback, a total of 40 student-athletes are currently quarantined and will be back in action on September 15.
For now, the volleyball team will miss games against Nodaway Valley, Pleasantville, Clarke and possibly East Union.
