The public is invited to the dedication and ribbon-cutting at the new Tingley Memorial Park Sunday, September 20 at 4 p.m.
In conjunction with the dedication, a homemade ice cream contest is being held at the park.
All entries must be made from scratch in a crank or electric ice cream freezer, and no commercial mixes will be allowed.
Entries in two categories – vanilla and “anything goes” – will be judged on originality, flavor, texture, and appearance.
When judging is complete and winners are announced, free ice cream will be served to the public shortly after 4 p.m.
In case of rain, the event will be moved to the McFarland garage at the east end of Main Street.
