The Raiderettes placed second as a team at the Creston cross country meet recently, falling just behind Earlham and ahead of Nodaway Valley to round out the podium.
Running in first for the Raiderettes was Karlie Larsen, finishing with a time of 22:17, just one second faster than MaKayla Jones who fnished eighth overall, with Larsen coming in seventh.
Natalie Schaefer sped things up for a 12th place finished with a time of 24:19, finishing ahead of MaKenna Jones who also finished with a time of 24:19.
Lauren Triggs finished 22nd overall with a 25:23 time, an entire 5:20 faster than her time last year.
Alexa Smith finished 33rd overall with a time of 27:54, just ahead of Taylor Clymer who came in 35th with a time of 28:13.
Ashtyn Werner and Andrea Sickels finished 6th and 7th overall in the junior varsity pack with times of 32:30 and 35:06, respectiely.
The Raiders saw Briar Knapp finish first for the Raiders, with a time of 19:37 and a 14th place overall.
Will Newton finished 17th overall with a time of 19:57 and Jarrett Webb rounded out the group with a 24:12 time and 44th place finish.
“We had a great meet, said coach Debbie Larsen. “All five of the girls varsity scorers medalled and two of the boys. We are very proud of each one of our runners and the effort they have put into training.”
The Raiderettes could be down a varsity runner over the next two meets, however, with Iowa Department of Public Health changing quarantine guidelines, the missing athlete and managers may be able to return.
