The Princess Theater Board would like to thank the community for their continued support in keeping the Princess Theater open. This year in the midst of COVID-19, we are working hard to maintain our theater. You have supported us in drive-up concession sales, outdoor movies, marquee celebrations and donations. Your support means the world to us. We are anxiously awaiting the time that we can reopen the theater and invite you back through our doors.
This past year the theater did receive its tax exempt 501C3 designation, so the theater does now have some opportunities with grants and such. We applied for and were awarded funds through the Paycheck Protection Program, but it ran out in August. We will receive a small amount of money from the Iowa Economic Non-Profit Recovery Relief grant soon. This will help, but we will still need some operating money once our doors can reopen.
Every fall the Princess Theater Board asks Ringgold County residents to be a part of the Princess Patron campaign. Board members ask residents to help keep our special community theater open by helping with general operating expenses and special projects.
Anyone can be a Princess Patron with any amount of donation. With a $25 donation, you can be a bronze patron, $50 is a silver patron, $100 you would be considered a gold patron, and over $100 is called a platinum patron. The board will accept any amount of donation no matter how big or small. And the donors’ names reaching bronze level or above will be displayed on the big screen before each movie, once we reopen.
The board asks that any Ringgold resident or any person with Ringgold County ties consider becoming a Princess Patron. Any donation to the theater can be a tax write-off for the donor.
In this paper this week, there is an ad that you can clip and send back to the theater address with your donation. Any board member would gladly take your donation as well. The following are Princess board members: Martha Landphair, Jane Lawhead, Shaun Kniep, Heidi Albaugh, Nina Dugan, Kristi Sackett, Callie Elwood, Ron Schafer, and Angi Dodge. Karen Bender is the Princess manager.
Thank you for your contributions and your continued support. We will be back and we will reopen just as soon as we can. We miss our patrons and our movies. Your donations will help keep us open.
