To The editor:
The drive thru benefit for Rod was such an outpouring of love and support from this community. We thank everyone who stopped by the Mount Ayr Fire Hall to grab a delicious meal on a cold, rainy evening. The pork was provided by my nephew, Brian Peterson and family from Murray and the sides were provided by Iowa Farm Kitchen, The Ackers, from Kellerton. If we missed seeing or visiting anyone, we are sorry, but thank you so much.
Rod had his right kidney removed on October 1, because they found a mass attached to it. The mass was cancerous, but it had not spread. He is home and doing well. He will be off work for awhile, so the donations and prayers are greatly appreciated.
I also want to say that this all came about from a single, simple yearly check up. So don’t put it off, because Rod had no symptoms of cancer, he went for other reasons.
God bless you all and we wish you well.
P.S. The biggest thank you goes to Tim, Kate, Lucie, Eli, Jon, Brooke, Sophia and Benjamin Zollman. For their love, support and hard work to make this work. We love you. Keep praying.
Rod and Vicki
