The Raider football program will be without its offensive coordinator after 42 years.
Coach James Smith, once a math instructor at Mount Ayr Community High School, has decided to call it a day, announcing his retirement after the closure of the 2020 Raider football season.
Coach Smith was also a starter/official for the track season, making many trips to Drake University annually to participate in the Iowa State High School Track and Field meet every May.
