The reported number of positive COVID-19 cases in Ringgold County continues to climb.
According to the latest statistics from the Iowa Department of Public Health, Ringgold County has recorded 60 positive COVID-19 cases over the past 14 days.
Nine of those positive cases were reported in Clearview Home in Mount Ayr (see statement at right).
In all, Ringgold County has recorded the second fewest positive cases since reporting begin last March.
At 190 total positive cases, Ringgold County trails only Adams County with 155 positive results.
In comparison, totals from surrounding counties include 710 in Union, 458 in Clarke, 462 in Taylor, and 302 in Decatur.
The latest report shows a positivity rate in the county at 16.7 percent among all tests administered over those 14 days.
Yet, the county ranks third from the bottom in the total number of tests administered.
According to the IDPH, 1,678 tests have been administered in Ringgold County, trailing only Wayne at 1,601 and Adams at 1,077 in the fewest number of tests overall.
