County reports high 7-day COVID rate

According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, the percentage of positive cases of COVID-19 is among the highest in the area over the past seven days.
With 44 new cases, the county reported a positivity rate of 22 percent among those tested, trailing only Union County at 23 percent for the highest in the area.
Other area counties reported lower percentages: Taylor – 16 percent, Adams – 16 percent, Decatur – 15 percent, and Clarke – 14 percent.
The seven-day average percentage statewide is 12.1 percent.
Still, Ringgold County has recorded the second fewest positive cases in the state since reporting began last March.
At 286 total positive cases, Ringgold County trails only Adams County with 196 positive results.
In comparison, totals from surrounding counties include 899 in Union, 528 in Clarke, 483 in Taylor, and 358 in Decatur.
