Border Brawl
The Raider wrestlers went south for the annual Border Brawl in Albany, Missouri on January 7.
Mount Ayr came out on top overall after defeating Albany 51-12, North Andrew 6-0 and South Harrison 45-36.
The Raiders have come back to Iowa champions for the past four years.
Against Albany, Bryce Shaha defeated Conlan Newman and Payton Fleharty defeated Jerrid Bunten.
Trae Ehlen defeated Joey Tate by fall and Jaydon Knight defeated Kyle Burke by fall.
Keaton White defeated Hunter Coil by fall and Braydon Swietlik defeated Bryce Newby by fall.
Against North Andrew, Dawson Fansher of North Andrew, defeated Joshua West by fall.
The rest of the matches were forfeits giving Mount Ayr the win.
Against South Harrison, the Raiders had a closer contest.
Mason Hamilton defeated Joshua West by fall before Bryce Shaha defeated Zach Pelletier by fall.
Payton Fleharty defeated Parker Chamberlin by fall.
Trae Ehlen defeated his opponent, Kamron Hamilton by fall in one minute flat.
Jaydon Knight defeated Briar Frame by fall and Keaton White defeated Kasten VanMeter by a 5-2 decision.
Braydon Swietlik defeated Benton Crabtree by fall.
North Mahaska
The Raiders traveled to North Mahaska last week, where they placed second overall with 160 points, just behind North Tama with 166.5 points.

The Raiders saw six first place finishes and one sixth place to close out the North Mahaska Invitational.
At 106 pounds Drew Eh Ehlen (14-2) defeated Dale Belieu of Des Moines Lincoln JV by a fall in 24 seconds and won his first place match against North Tama’s Case Monat by fall in 59 seconds.
Jarrett Webb (15-3) took first overall at 113 pounds.
Webb defeated Karson Kirkpatrick of Cardinal Community by fall in 3:11.
In the semi-final, Webb defeated Jaxson Kikbride of Pekin by fall and took first place by pinning Gentry Walstonof Lynnville-Sully by fall.
At 132, Bryce Shaha (22-2) took first overall after three matches.
In the quarterfinal, Shaha won by fall over Brock Curtis of Fairfield JV.
In the semifinal, Shaha defeated Peter J Stout of North Mahaska by fall.
In the first place round, Shaha defeated Nathan Curry of Eddyville-Blakesburg-Freemont by fall.
Trae Ehlen (19-0) took first place after four matches at 145 pounds.
Ehlen won by fall over Alex Garman of EBF before defeated Keagan Atkinson of Cardinal Community by fall.
In the semifinal, Ehlen defeated Quinn Rhamy of Pella JV by tech fall.
The first place match was between Ehlen and Bailey Frescoln of Pekin. Ehlen won by fall after 1:38.
At 152 pounds, Jaydon Knight (18-0) took first place defeating Cael Baker of Pekin by a 4-3 decision.
Leading up to the first place match, Knight defeated Owen Schakel of Pella JV by fall and Lynnville-Sully’s Resse Dunsbergen by fall.
At 195 pounds, Braydon Swietlik (13-6) defeated Hayden Jones of North Mahaksa by fall and Donovan Babcock of Cardinal Community by fall.
Payton Fleharty (10-14) placed sixth overall in the 138 pound weight class.
Fleharty won by tech fall over Landon Walters of Des Moines Lincoln JV before falling to Brodey Johnson of Lynville-Sully in the quarterfinal.
In the consolation semifinal, Fleharty won by a 9-6 decision over Brad Matthews of Baxter.
In the fifth place match, Fleharty lost to Levi VanDonsalaar of EBF by a 5-0 decision.
South Harrison
The Raiders also competed against South Harrison in which the Raiders won 45-36.
At 120 pounds, Mason Hamilton defeated Joshua West by fall to award six points to South Harrison.
Bryce Shaha gained six points back with a fall against Zach Pelletier.
Payton Fleharty defeated Parker Chamberlin at 138 pounds.
Trae Ehlen defeated Kamron Hamilton.

The Raiders will be hosting the annual Ron Scott Duals this Friday and Saturday, January 15 and 16.
The action on Friday will begin at 4:30 p.m. and Saturday things begin at 10 a.m.
