Mount Ayr’s Payton Weehler was selected to play in the 2021 Shrine Bowl, one of the highest honors for high school football.
Weehler joins a prestigious list of Raiders that have been selected and is the first since Kyle Dolecheck in 2016.
Included on the list are Joe Fell 1984, Clint Riggs 1985, Brad Hartman 1992, Zach Robinson 2009, David Showalter 2011, Dustin Pritchett 2012, Jacob Sobotka 2014, Joe Ricker 2015 and Kyle Dolecheck 2016.
Weehler respectfully declined due to prior obligations, including his committment to the University of Nebraska next season.
