Five advance to district wrestling Saturday

The Raider wrestlers began their postseason road to “The Well” last Saturday in Corning. After sectionals, the Raiders saw five move on to districts that will take place this Saturday at Underwood at 12 p.m.
Wrestlers that placed first or second were able to move on.
At 106, Drew Ehlen (32-4) was able to advance after wrestling back after losing to Brayden Maeder due to a 5-2 decision. In the second place match, Ehlen defeated Mizael Gomez by fall in 1:01.
At 113, Jarrett Webb (27-10) was able to secure first place. After two bye’s in the quarter and semifinals, Webb defeated Milo Staver by fall in 2:43.
At 132, Bryce Shaha (42-2) grabbed a top podium place after defeating Keegan Smith by fall and in the first place match, Haydn Walters by a fall.
Payton Fleharty (24-20), at 138, placed fifth and was unable to advance to districts. In the quarterfinal, Danny Kinsella was able to defeat Fleharty by fall in 1:24. Fleharty received a bye in the consolation semifinals before defeating Tyler Tate by fall in 1:15 in the fifth place match.
At 145, Trae Ehlen (37-2) defeated Dawson Stream and Duncan Clark both by fall. Ehlen defeated Stream in 1:08 and battled Clark for 2:46.
Jaydon Knight (38-0) stayed undefeated at 152 pounds after defeating Damon Hayes in 52 seconds by fall and Jack Gordon by fall in 41 seconds.
Keaton White (27-13) placed third in 160 pounds, defeating Dayton Allen before losing out to Caleb Iliff by a 20-13 decision. In the third place match, White defeated Trenton Beck by fall in 1:27.
At 195 pounds, Braydon Swietlik (24-19) placed fourth overall. Swietlik defeated Duncan Marshall by fall after 3 minutes.
In the semifinal, Swietlik lost out to Corey Coleman by a 9-2 decision before falling to Sam Olson in 1:34.
