After a year’s absence due to COVID restrictions, the Mount Ayr Community High School prom returns this Saturday, April 24.
This year’s theme is “A Night Under the Stars.”
Prom-goers and their families and friends are invited to take pictures on the courthouse square beginning at 3:30 p.m.
The public is also invited to attend the formal walk-in ceremony in the high school gym. Juniors are scheduled to arrive between 4:30-5:30 p.m. with seniors to follow between 5:30-6:30 p.m.
After walk-ins have concluded, there will be no open floor for the gathering of friends, family or students due to COVID, and the remainder of prom activities are closed to the public.
At approximately 6:15 p.m. prom-goers will go to the auditorium for the annual video.
From there, prom-goers will be bussed to Ramsey Farms for a 7:30 p.m. dinner catered by sophomore class parents.
The prom remains at Ramsey Farms for the dance beginning at 9 p.m.
At approximately 11:15 p.m. prom-goers will return to the school and will have 30 minutes to change clothes prior to returning to the school for a full night of After Prom activities organized by the junior class parents.
