The opening night of the 2021 Ringgold County Fair is less than two weeks away, and organizers have announced plans for the event that runs Wednesday, July 7 through Sunday, July11.
This year’s theme is “Just a Small Town Throw Down,” and full details for all fair activities can be found in the special fair edition in next week’s Record-News and Diagonal Progress.
In a preview of the 2021 fair, activity actually begins Tuesday, July 6 as 4-H clubs may begin to set up their booths.
Wishard Chapel Community Church is also hosting a free-will offering fish fry and gospel sing from 5-7 p.m. that night in the rodeo arena.
Wednesday, July 7, the official opening night of the fair, features a kick-off supper, parade, Bill Riley talent show and queen and princess coronation.
Thursday, July 8 4-H presentations, the rabbit and poultry shows, the cowgirl/princess contest, mutton bustin’, and the rodeo.
Friday, July 9 features the swine, goat, sheep, and horse shows along with the Myers Pedal Pull competition and demo derby.
Saturday, July 10 will be filled with a series of beef shows, the baby contest, and the truck and tractor pull.
Action at the fair winds down Sunday, July 11 with the release of all animals and exhibits, the sale lunch, and the premium sale.
