Are you wondering if the headache, sore throat, runny nose, and/or fever symptoms are COVID-19?
In addition to the option of seeing your primary care provider, Ringgold County Public Health (RCPH) serves as a pick-up site for free COVID-19 test kits.
“It’s simple to test,” reports Becky Fletchall, RCPH Nurse Administrator. “After getting the kit, those testing will follow the instructions included with the test kit to activate the kit, collect the sputum test, and package the sample. The sample will need to be taken to the local UPS drop-off, which is Vetter Equipment in Mount Ayr by 3:00 p.m. (It would be preferable if a non-symptomatic family member or friend would pick up and drop off the kit.) Results will be given within 24 hours of the sample being received at the State Hygienic Lab.”

Mount Ayr Medical Clinic offers Moderna vaccine for individuals age 18 and over, and can be reached at 641-464-4470.
Public Health continues to offer COVID vaccination via walk-in appointment for those age 12 and up, as well as scheduled appointments during our usual office hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.. The agency will also be coordinating with local schools at their registration events in August to offer vaccination to anyone who qualifies.
“Nation-wide through hospital and state officials, we are seeing the consequence of not vaccinating,” stated Fletchall. “Those hospitalized and dying from COVID-19 are overwhelmingly those who aren’t vaccinated. Please talk with your trusted medical care professional if you have questions about the vaccine.”
