Students age 12-17 are now able to protect themselves and their peers from COVID-19. Mount Ayr and Diagonal schools and Ringgold County Public Health are collaborating to offer vaccines to students during school registration this week.
COVID-19 vaccines are found to be the most effective protection against hospitalizations and death related to coronavirus.
“In addition, we want to continue to encourage hand washing/hand sanitizer use, practicing social distancing, wearing a mask when in crowds, and staying home with any signs of illness,” states public health nurse Robin McDonnell, RN. “We want to do our part in protecting our community, and having the vaccine readily available is one way we can get closer to protecting Ringgold County,”
