Ringgold County Auditor Amanda Waske reminds county residents that the deadline to file papers to appear on the ballot for city, school, or Rural Improvement Zone elected positions is Thursday, September 16 at 5 p.m.
Votes will be cast in the November 2 general election.
Those interested in appearing on the ballot may pick up filing papers from their school board secretary for school positions or from the city clerks in their respective communities.
Completed affidavits and nomination petitions for school board positions should be returned to the school board secretaries.
Completed affidavits and nomination petitions for mayor or city council positions must be turned in to the county Auditor’s office.
Waske reported the following positions are up for election in November:
Beaconsfield – mayor and three council
Benton – mayor and three council
Diagonal – mayor and two council
Ellston – mayor and five council
Kellerton – mayor and two council, one to fill vacancy
Maloy – mayor and three council
Mount Ayr – mayor and two council
Redding – mayor and five council
Tingley – mayor and two council, one to fill vacancy.
School positions to appear on the ballot include:
Diagonal – two board members at large
Mount Ayr – one board member District 2 and one board member District 4.
Two positions are up for election on the Sun Valley Lake Rural Improvement Zone board.
The names of candidates for the various positions will be publicized following the September 16 deadline.
