Raiders prepare for homecoming week

Homecoming in the Mount Ayr Community Schools will be held next week.
With the theme “To the End Zone and Beyond,” the week’s focus will take on a decidedly animated tone.
Monday will be Toy Story Day when students are encouraged to don their best cowboy/cowgirl attire.
Tuesday is The Incredibles Day when super hero outfits will be in abundance.
Wednesday pays homage to the movie “Up” and will feature students dressed up in “old people” costumes.
Thursday is Inside Out Day when students are encouraged to match the color of their individual seminar group.
Thursday evening features the crowning of the Homecoming queen and king as well as the band booster supper, jersey auction and class competitions.
Candidates for queen include Madalynn Stewart, Emmalee Schafer, Halsie Barnes, Payten Lambert and Adalyn Reynolds.
King candidates are Keaton White, Cody Larson, Jace Grose, Adler Shay, and Brady Bickel.
The princess this year is Aspen Still who will be escorted by prince Brayden Graham.
Friday is Brave Day with students decked out in their Raider gear and school colors.
Friday also features the parade at 1:30 p.m. followed by the community pep rally on the football field at 2:25 p.m.
That evening the Raiders football team will take on AHSTW at 7 p.m.
Recognition of the Homecoming court will take place at halftime.
Mount Ayr elementary students get into the Homecoming spirit with their own set of dress-up days.
Monday is Pajama Day, followed by Hero Day on Tuesday. Wednesday is Crazy Hair Day, with Raider/Raiderette Color Day on Thursday. Friday is the traditional Spirit Day.
